Helping you achieve inner strength, balance and control.
The word 'mys' is Greek in origin and literally means muscle.
Myotherapy is therefore the treatment of muscles, but it also so much more. The definition provided by Myotherapy Association Australia is "the evidence based assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletaI pain and associated conditions".
But what does that actually mean? What does a Myotherapist treat?
Examples of conditions we treat are;
- back, and neck pain
- headache, migraines and jaw pain
- sciatica
- pregnancy pre and post-natal
- soft tissue/ overuse injuries
- poor flexibility, stress and tension
- rotator cuff injuries/reduced range of motion
- tendinopathies
- muscular and joint pain
- shin splints (MTSS) and plantar fasciitis
- tennis/golfer's elbow....and the list goes on!
