This treatment focuses on relieving tight muscles that may be compressing the sciatic nerve, leading to pain. Gentle Myofascial release helps to loosen muscles, reducing the risk of compression. Applying direct pressure on the nerve only serves to aggravate the issue. Instead, a sound understanding of where each bone, joint, and muscle is positioned allows your therapist to locate the right pressure points to help relieve sciatic pain. 

This treatment typically works on the glutes, hamstrings, thighs, IT band, hip rotators, claves and the greater trochanter. It can also help to treat piriformis syndrome, contributing to sciatica. We work over the top of towels for parts and ask clients to wear gym/sport shorts that are snug fitting (underwear/boxing shorts alone are not sufficient).
