 What to Expect During Your CoolSculpting Procedure 

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive treatment.  
No general/topical anesthesia or pain medication is required. 	
 Applicator cup uses vacuum pressure to draw tissue between the cooling panels. 	 
Sensations of pulling, tugging, and mild pinching in the area being treated. 	 
Intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, cramping. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb. 
You will either sit or lie down during your procedure, depending on the area being treated.

 It is important that the area being treated not be exposed to the sun. A broadspectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen of 30 SPF or higher should be applied whenever the area to be treated is exposed to the sun. This practice should continue between treatments and following your last treatment for at least 6 weeks. Hyper-pigmentation or hypo-pigmentation can result if the treated area is exposed to the sun without sunscreen.  
DO NOT use Retin-A or Renova one week prior to laser treatment. 
DO NOT take Accutane for six months prior to laser treatment.
 DO NOT pluck, tweeze, thread, wax or use depilatory agents for three weeks prior to treatment.  
The area should be shaved 24-48 hours prior to treatment. Stubble is needed to visualize the area. If the area being treated has a heavy hair growth, you should shave just prior to coming for treatment. If the area has too much growth and requires shaving we will have to reschedule your appointment.

- If you are at high risk for pigmentation problems, you will be prescribed the hydroquinone approach (Pigment Control, Pigment Control + Blending + Retin- A) prior to receiving the peel.
4-days prior to the peel, discontinue use of all exfoliative agents and star products including Exfoliating polish, Dual Action Scrub, Melamin C, Aknetrol, Exfoliating Accelerator, , Radical Night Repair, Retin-A + Pigment Control + Blending Creme. 
7-days prior to the procedure, avoid laser hair removal, electrolysis, waxing, Dermaplaining and the use of depilatory creams.
Avoid having the peel until the skin is completely healed from any procedures such as laser or Hydrafacial.
If you have a history of cold sores (herpes simplex infection) around the mouth, you will need to start an oral anti-viral medication (e.g. Valtrex) 1-day prior to peel and continue for
