Medical Cannabis Evaluations in Oklahoma City. Christy and Steve were Oklahoma high school sweethearts who knew they wanted careers in health care. While obtaining a degree at OSU, Steve was selected for medical school at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Md and was commissioned as an officer in the Air Force. While he completed medical school, Christy completed her RN, BSN at the University of Maryland. Steve trained in Emergency Medicine and while in the military became the director of Emergency Services at a military and VA hospital. He was deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Christy became a cardiac and emergency nurse. After leaving the military, they worked in the civilian world for several years then decided to embark on their next adventure and moved to Australia to practice in a new environment. Christy continued working in cardiac and emergency nursing while Steve became the director of a public emergency department in Australia. While traveling the world they attended medical conferences and learned the health practices in places such as Hong Kong, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Vietnam. Upon return to Oklahoma, they found the state of health care in the US to be well, frustrating. While it excels in many exciting and high-tech ways, it is severely deficient in taking care of the needs of many patients. A bright spot was a recent legalization of Medical Marijuana in Oklahoma. This was a new opportunity for patients to take control of their health care in a positive direction. Christy and Steve hope to be caring assistants along that journey.
