This initial session is where we start to figure out exactly how to build your best path forward on land. We will spend the time having a detailed, human-centred conversation about your full history, including past MSK injuries, current pain levels, and your overall health. We know that transitioning from the pool to the gym, or returning to exercise after a period of pain, is a big deal. Even if you've already had aquatic therapy with us, moving to land-based work requires a fresh, careful assessment to make sure we understand the risks and can get the balance absolutely right for you. Based on this, we'll write your completely individualised program.

Initial Consultation for Exercise Rehabilitation

This is your dedicated time for hands-on, human support as you execute your individualised exercise program and build confidence on land. Your session takes place in the fully accessible Aspire gym, where we guide you through movement using everything available, from cardio and weight machines to more advanced equipment like free weights, the Smith machine, and the squat rack.  Our team have personal experience managing their own gym work around pain and injury, making them uniquely adaptable to your needs. They're always ready to go off-script and adjust your session on the spot if you're having an off day or something unexpected crops up—we pride ourselves on being friendly clinical practitioners who believe we have time for you. If none of this gym equipment terminology means anything to you right now, don't fret; learning to move well in a gym is new to loads of people, and we’ll walk you through every step until you feel confident
