Mikey is a highly skilled barber who always pays close attention to the client's wishes. He is not only technically competent and experienced but also courteous and genial. The Duke's Chair, situated in his house in Gosforth, is chic and welcoming.

Fantastic experience. A lovely lad who is not just attentive but actually listens to what you want. This is hands down the best hair cut I have had as it’s extremely difficult to find anyone who listens properly, looks at your hair type and asks questions. Mikey is an outstanding barber, been getting my haircut with him for over 10 years in various locations and the Dukes Chair is right up with the smartest of them all. Couldn’t recommend him any more to new people!

Amazing service as per usual. Super talented barber, one of the best in Ncl; it’s evident that he has proper training and skill and passion for it. Used to get great skin fades and tapers, now I've grown it out and this where Mikey’s experience has really shown - his scissor cuts are miles above anywhere else. I've been going over two years now and never had a single cut I've been unhappy, seems to get it perfect every time. Nice to go knowing you're in good hands and always going to leave with a good cut. 10/10!!

Five star review for Mikey because everytime I go to him it’s a five star experience. The studio is magnificent, comfortable and it all makes for an enjoyable haircut. Mikey himself is brilliant, the experience shows and once you find a good barber, never change. That’s why I’ve been going to him for years now and will always continue to do so!

Had my haircut and beard shaped up this morning by Michael after using him previously when he worked elsewhere and it’s safe to say the standards haven’t dropped one bit, if anything he’s got even better! Nice warm welcome upon arrival and also so easy to park right outside without any hassle and from start to finish the experience was absolutely top tier! He takes real pride in his work and clearly knows his stuff so if you’re wanting a proper haircut by someone that is highly trained with an abundance of knowledge I seriously wouldn’t look any further! Best haircuts I've ever had! Thank you

Mikey is the best barber in the north east, hands down! Super talented, without doubt the best fade of my life - plus he gives excellent suggestions and advice if I’m unsure what cut to go for or how to switch it up. I have been using him for 7 years and will not go anywhere else! The Duke’s Chair setup is super comfortable, it’s easy to drive to and park, and you just feel right at home the second you walk in 👌🏻💯👏🏻 thank you Mikey!

Excellent haircut from Mikey at The Duke Chair. Clear expertise, great advice, and superb attention to detail—he really takes pride in his work and it shows in the result. The environment at The Duke Chair is equally impressive—welcoming, relaxed, and well-presented, making the whole experience enjoyable and comfortable. Dedicated private parking is a great added touch. A special mention to Bear, Mikey’s four-legged assistant—calm, well-behaved, he matches Mikey’s professionalism (although I suspect he’s mainly there for quality control and the occasional treat! :) ). Highly recommend.

Today was my time with Mikey for a ladies cut and blow dry. He did such a beautiful job, really happy with my hair! Very reasonably priced too - will definitely be back. Would highly recommend Mikey to anyone looking for a new hairdresser. Best cut I've had in a while :)
