Het hangt af van het ontwerp en de grootte van je tatoeage. Een kleine tatoeage ter grootte van een handpalm kan 1-3 uur duren om te voltooien; tatoeages met volledige mouwen duren 6-10 uur en zeer grote tatoeages kunnen tot 30 uur duren. Raadpleeg uw technicus voordat u uw afspraak boekt, zodat u een duidelijk idee hebt van hoe lang het precies duurt voordat uw tatoeage is gemaakt.

Doet een tatoeage pijn?

Ja. Wanneer je een tatoeage krijgt, wordt je huid herhaaldelijk doorboord met een scherpe naald bedekt met inktpigment – het zal pijn doen, maar het niveau van pijn dat je ervaart zal afhangen van je pijndrempel.

Kan ik een tatoeage laten zetten als ik een gevoelige huid of allergieën heb?

Als je een gevoelige huid of allergieën hebt, neem dan contact op met je arts of een ervaren dermatoloog om te zien of het veilig voor je is om een tatoeage te laten zetten. Mensen met een gevoelige huid hebben meer kans op roodheid en jeuk en mensen met rosacea, psoriasis of eczeem lopen een groter risico op een bijwerking. Laat geen tatoeage zetten als je ziek bent of als je immuunsysteem verzwakt is.

Hoe verzorg ik een nieuwe tatoeage?

De nazorg varieert tussen tatoeagestudio's, dus volg het advies van je tatoeëerder tot op de letter op. Je moet je nieuwe tatoeage waarschijnlijk de eerste 2-5 uur bedekken en vervolgens zorgvuldig wassen met milde zeep en lauw water voordat je er een dunne laag ongeparfumeerde vochtinbrengende crème op aanbrengt. Je laat dan je tatoeage aan de open lucht blootstaan of bedekt hem met huishoudfolie of gaas. Je tatoeëerder zal een nazorgregime aanbevelen, maar je zult je tatoeage waarschijnlijk 3-5 keer per dag moeten schoonmaken.
