Wat kan ik verwachten tijdens een manicurebehandeling?

Nageltechnici hebben de neiging om een manicure te beginnen met een handbad met warm water, waardoor de huid en nagels zachter worden. Vervolgens vijlen, polijsten en reinigen ze de nagelriem, masseren ze je handen met een vochtinbrengende crème en brengen ze een basislaag polijstmiddel aan, voordat ze worden afgewerkt met een laag kleur, toplaag en nagelriemolie. Standaard nagellak wordt op natuurlijke wijze gedroogd; schellak en gellakken worden uitgehard onder een UV-lamp; acrylnagels uitharden in de natuurlijke lucht.

Hoe vaak moet ik een manicure krijgen?

Het hangt sterk af van het type manicure waar je voor gaat. Sommige nagelstylisten raden aan om één keer per week een manicure te ondergaan, maar een schellak-, dippoeder-, acryl- en gelmanicure kan veel langer duren. Je kunt 2-3 weken wachten voordat je je gel- of Shellac-manicure vult of opnieuw doet; wacht 3-6 weken tussen dip-poedermanicures; en laat 6-8 weken staan voordat je je acryl-nagelmanicure opnieuw laat doen. Neem bij twijfel contact op met uw technicus.

Hoe lang duurt een manicure?

Het hangt af van het type nagellak dat wordt gebruikt: traditionele nagellak gaat ongeveer een week mee, acrylnagels moeten tussen de 6-8 weken meegaan en hebben om de 2-3 weken een vulling nodig om de hergroei te dekken. Schellak en gelnagels gaan 2-3 weken mee.

Zijn er risico's verbonden aan manicures?

Ja. Sommige soorten manicures brengen risico's met zich mee. Nagelriemen kunnen geïnfecteerd raken als ze worden gesneden en je kunt last krijgen van droge, zwakke of broze nagels als je nagellak niet correct wordt verwijderd.
