Wat is laser resurfacing en hoe werkt het?

Laser resurfacing is een cosmetische procedure die geconcentreerde lichtstralen gebruikt om rimpels, littekens en vlekken in het gezicht te verminderen. Het werkt door de buitenste laag van de huid (de epidermis) te verwijderen en de onderliggende huid (de dermis) te verwarmen, waardoor de groei van natuurlijke eiwitten, collageenvezels genaamd, toeneemt. Dit resulteert in een gladdere, stevigere, jonger uitziende huid.

Welke aandoeningen kunnen worden behandeld met laser resurfacing?

Huidaandoeningen zoals rimpels, ouderdomsvlekken, ongelijke huidtinten, acnelittekens en een door de zon beschadigde huid kunnen allemaal effectief worden behandeld door middel van laserresurfacing. Het kan ook littekens en fijne lijntjes rond de ogen, het voorhoofd en de mond verminderen.
