Wat is beenwaxen en hoe doe je dat?

Beenwaxen is een ontharingsmethode voor de benen. Ontharing wordt bereikt door warme of koude was op je benen te plaatsen en deze vervolgens snel in de tegenovergestelde richting van je haargroei af te strippen om haren van de wortel te verwijderen. Hoe bereid je je voor op een beenwaxafspraak?

Scheer je niet voor je afspraak; om ervoor te zorgen dat je beenwax effectief is en je zijdezachte benen hebt, moet je beenhaar minstens een kwart centimeter lang zijn, zodat de wax kan vastgrijpen. Je huid moet ook zo vetvrij mogelijk zijn, dus zorg ervoor dat je voor je afspraak doucht, scrubt en je benen niet hydrateert. Zorg er ten slotte voor dat de huid op je benen niet verbrand of gebroken is en vertel je schoonheidstechnicus over eventuele moedervlekken op je benen die mogelijk tegen de was moeten worden beschermd.

Wat kun je verwachten tijdens een beenwaxafspraak?

Je moet je benen blootstellen, dus je moet je kleding verwijderen of aanpassen zodat je waxtherapeut toegang heeft tot de delen van je benen die je wilt waxen zonder het risico te lopen wax op je kleding te krijgen. Als je klaar bent, wordt opgewarmde zachte was dun op je benen verspreid en worden er waxstrips stevig bovenop geplaatst. De strips worden snel in de tegenovergestelde richting van je haargroei getrokken, waardoor je haar tijdens het proces uit de wortel wordt gehaald.
