Can’t say enough good things about Roland! The first time we met he pointed out my long hair was 4” longer on one side! I was all in favor of my last stylist not cutting too much - but this was ridiculous! This time I went to see if a little layering around my face would make my very fine hair look thicker. After taking a LOT of (completely unhurried) time to discuss how I normally manage my hair (as little as possible!) we agreed layers would be too much work for someone totally defeated by a round brush! Instead he did a minimal but effective blunt cut that is perfect! Highly recommend!

Roland is simply the absolute best hairdresser; we are so fortunate to have him here in Sausalito...and also just across the bridge in San Francisco.

J. Roland Salon is a gem of a hair salon - we are so lucky to have access to its talented stylists right here in Sausalito on Caledonia Street. I have my hair colored by Sebastian who is a wizard with color, knowing exactly how to tone and add understated pizzazz to a client's "crowning glory". But it is my haircut that has made all the difference to me. Since Roland began cutting my hair, roughly a year ago (I go every 5-7 weeks), I have literally never had a bad hair day. It falls into place after blowdrying (I do it myself) and hardly needs any fussing over. What freedom and bliss!

Got a great haircut and color today! All set for the holidays. Sebastian is the best.
