Jill is a magician!! The New York winter and water had killed my curls, but Jill brought them back to life. So very professional and taught me about my hair and styling, while also keeping my preferences top of mind. The space is clean and modern, and the Self team were so wonderful.

If I wasn't moving next month, this would be my permanent salon, but unfortunately I'm leaving New York. :(

Bianca took the time to really learn about my hair and what I wanted and absolutely slayed my cut and style! My hair feels so much fresher, healthier, and chic now. I’m usually so reluctant with getting my hair trimmed, but I’m obsessed with this look. The salon is also super clean and modern with friendly staff and great facilities all around. I’ll definitely be rebooking at Self in the future — so thrilled to have a spot in Bushwick like this!

It was incredible! I booked a last minute appointment with Sabrina, to get a partial highlight. She went above and beyond. It ended up looking great very natural and healthy. The whole team was so welcoming. We had such a nice conversation and I really felt at home there. Highly recommend!

Lorraine was professional, punctual, and really did her best work on my highlights. It was my first time getting any color, let alone blonde. I have been natural for 5 years and have meticulously kept my hair healthy so I was a bit nervous at first but Lorraine and her team explained the process, were gentle, and gave easy-to-follow maintenance tips. Dorela did an absolutely amazing job with my hair! I have very thick & wavy hair, so I was a little nervous at first, but Dorela was fantastic! Tamia is a true professional. She was on time and very thorough. As a first time curly cut client, she asked me to tell her about my hair and listened to my hair concerns, goals and complaints. Dorela is such an expert in balayage techniques! I drive from another state for her to do my hair because she is so good at what she does. I can’t go anywhere else that is why I would highly recommend you check her out :-)
