I have been coming to Hair & Color for 30 years. At 95 I can safely say that Hair & Color has made me the happiest I have ever been. I enjoy seeing all the young women and men with modern styles. Carmela was exactly what I was looking for. I moved to Jacksonville three years ago and have been looking for a hairdresser that knew what they were doing. Carmela exceeded my expectations. She corrected a bad hair color and gave me a stunning haircut. Already made another appointment.

Betty is such an artist! I stopped coloring my hair and she has been helping me transition. I don’t want ‘gray’ hair that’s dull so she highlights in just the right places. Then gives me a super cut! She always listens and continues to be a wonderful stylist! Even when I was doing a full color!

Beyond AMAZING! This was my first visit and Betty took extra time with me to discuss the overall color, highlights color and the cut and style I wanted AND she more than delivered it!! I was nervous about visiting a new place and stylist, but I felt right at home. I highly recommend!! Thank you, Betty!

This was my first visit, I have been desperate to find a great colorist. My black hair is now very gray with patches of white. I want natural looking but my hair is aging my face. Betty came to my rescue. She patiently showed me color samples and listened to my ideas. We decided to go with low lights and no highlights. The result is totally natural and takes 10 years off. My search is over, I have Betty.

Tony is very patient and takes a lot of time asking questions so he understands what you want. My hair was fried from over-processing and he got rid of the straw feeling and replaced it with soft blonde color. He spent over 2 hours on my hair cut and coloring. My only complaint is he is very expensive for this area, $300 for color and foil when I usually pay $40-$80 was a shock. But I gladly paid it to get rid of the straw-like hair. His products are very good and a little goes a long way, so $30 a bottle for shampoo and conditioner lasts for many months. Color, cut & products cost $500.

Love the owners, Tony and Carmela, and their gracious stylist, Betty (Bella). Skip the glitzy glam shops and visit Hair and Color Specialists in their modest little shop for great services in a no-frills setting. Staff discontinued selling hair products in order to focus on providing quality services, although prducts once carried were top-notch and cruelty-free. Tony and Carmela have honed their skills over the decades by working with some of the top industry names, but could also probably teach Vidal a thing or two. Stop in to say "Hello!", then come back to have your hair done. 💇‍♀️👨‍

The Hair and Color Specialists has been my go-to salon since I moved to northern St. Johns County. Owners Tony and Carmella Colicchio have been in the business for many years and are down-to-earth and knowledgeable stylists. They discontinued carrying hair products, which can be a lucrative salon sideline, but focus instead on providing quality services honed from years of experience. Stylist Betty is also excellent, so clients can be assured of a great cut or color job whoever is wielding the scissors and color wand.
