I was lucky enough to have the spa extreme ritual day, this was the best massage and facial I have ever had. The young lady who have me this experience was fantastic. The pool, and other amenities were great, the salt room especially. My Spar package also included a light lunch which I had a beautiful Yorkshire ham salad, and would highly recommend. You can even stay in your bathrobe to go and have lunch in the conservatory. I will definitely be returning.

The overall treatment was really lovely. As the treatment rooms are next to reception it was often quite loud with people talking. The lunch was great but walking in the rain in robes to the main hotel (in flip flops) isn’t ideal especially walking past the kitchens seeing behind the scenes abs a chef coughing up a lung Swimming are lovely but looking a little old with rusty walls and the gym has old equipment Lastly no one answers the phone in the spa, tried 7 times over 5 occasions, had to resort to calling the hotel and get put through Some great potential here and loved my treatment

This is one of my favourite places to go in York to relax and unwind. Lovely place in fantastic grounds and very attentive staff. Highly recommended.

No talking from either therapist, even before the treatment started-which made me feel awkward, not at ease or relaxed. I was a little taken aback at no conversation about my skin type or what I prefer in the way of a facial, but it actually wasn’t a problem as the products and facial were really, really great. The cleanliness of the gym/spa facilities changing rooms were lacking. Grubby is being polite. (Inside lockers, not just dust but dirt on every surface, wish I hadn’t dropped my pound on the floor to see under the bench 🤢)which was disappointing as the rest of the hotel was good.

I had a very nice day and the treatment was lovely.

We enjoyed the facilities as always. I felt that the massage was not quite up to the standard that I have received before and was short in time too. The foot treatment was excellent.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Have come several times and always a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

My treatment with Katie was very good. Hoping that Katie will be working and be my therapist on my next visit 😊 The water cooler near the pool was not working properly so the drinking water was warm. 😐

Booking was easy. Confirmation & reminders received. Communication was very good. Booking in was seemless with a very friendly receptionist. We booked a chill day so didn't have a treatment but we did have lunch in the hotel which was lovely, reasonably priced & a very good portion, however we ordered a glass of coke but only got half a glass, no idea what happened there. The facilities are great, a bigger than average swimming pool you find in spa, 4 therapy rooms & a huge spa pool, plenty of beds to chill on. Only downside was the changing room needed cleaning & had broken lockers.

Always a great experience. Love the variety of rooms (sauna, steam, salt etc) and the treatments are well done. Only small negative was real coffee to relax with would be nicer than the machine one on offer!
