Full-lace, lace front, and 360 wigs tend to require your hair to be absolutely flat before the wig is applied; this is achieved by braiding your hair into cornrows, or by wearing a wig cap. Next, a special adhesive (tape or glue) is applied to the outer perimeter of your hair (ensuring no glue touches your own hair), the wig fitted to your head and fixed in place with clips to allow the glue to bond. Excess lace is trimmed off, and makeup may or may not be used to help blend the lace edge with your skin to create a natural-looking finish. If you’ve opted to have your wig sewn-in, you’ll swap the adhesive stage for stitching the wig in place.
