Best Prenatal Massages near me in Las Palmas

It’s always best to ask your doctor if and when you should have a prenatal massage. Many massage therapists will not give pregnant women massages until they’re in their second trimester of pregnancy.

When you go for a conventional massage, you’ll usually lie down on your stomach for some, or all, of the treatment. This isn’t possible when you’re pregnant, so your therapist will use cushions to support your new shape enabling you to lie safely on your side or back. The massage technique will differ slightly, too; rather than applying any deep tissue pressure, your masseuse is likely to use long, sweeping strokes and work on the areas of your body that will benefit the most.

Prenatal massage relieves back, hip, and leg pain, reduces swelling (oedema), eases sciatic nerve discomfort, reduces anxiety and stress, improves sleep quality, and promotes general relaxation and wellbeing during pregnancy.

A prenatal massage is an adapted form of the Swedish massage that accommodates your change in shape whilst ensuring maximum relaxation. Your massage therapist may ask if you have particular aches and pains you’d like them to try to address during the massage to help relieve any discomfort.
