Best Plastic Surgeons near me in Tas-Sliema, Valletta

It largely depends on what procedure you’re having done. You’ll need a general anaesthetic for some types of surgery (e.g. a tummy tuck), and for others, a local anaesthetic will be used. Your surgery will involve incisions being made into the body parts involved in the procedure. Once surgery is over, you’re likely to experience swelling, bleeding, bruising and scarring; but remember, these are all part of the body’s normal healing process. Recovery time varies according to the type of plastic surgery you have – ask your surgeon about what to expect during and post surgery before you book your appointment.

Qualified plastic surgeons will be registered with the accredited governing body in the country they practise in. In the US, for example, you should look for a surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In the UK, you’re advised to talk with your GP first, check that your plastic surgeon is registered with the General Medical Council and ensure that their clinic has received a good report from the Care Quality Commission.
