When choosing a make-up artist, it's important to look at their portfolio and see if their style aligns with the type of service you're looking for. Read reviews and ask for recommendations from friends or family. Meet them in person ahead of time if you can, and make sure to communicate your needs and preferences clearly to ensure you get the look you want.

Make sure your face is clean and exfoliated before your make-up is applied. Use a primer before applying make-up, and set your make-up with a setting spray or powder. Touch-ups throughout the day can also help maintain your make-up. Avoid touching your face to keep your make-up looking fresh. Wear loose-fitting clothing that won't smudge your make-up when you change.
