How long does a perm last?

What shouldn't I do after I get a perm?

You shouldn’t stand with your head directly under the shower for 2 days, nor should you wash your hair with shampoo for 2 to 3 days (48-72 hours) after you’ve had your perm. It’s also advisable not to use swimming pools or hot tubs for a week (7 days) after perming your hair because the chemicals in the water can affect the structure of your hair follicles. Brushing your hair and using heated styling tools are also no-nos for 48 hours after you’ve had a perm; and colouring should be avoided for 3-7 days.
