Every time I visit A Cut Above, the service is always exceptional. The place is immaculate with white marbled ceramic tiles. I always feel like taking off my shoes as if I was home. Professionalism is their motto. It's a spa, they treat everyone like kings and queens. The nails technicians are amazing! Every visit is an experience of its own. I encourage everyone to pay them a visit.

Everyone catered to my needs, from appointment, to service and even with tea for me and juice for my daughter. The salon is clean and organized and the staff is very pleasant. Ms. Nikki washed and braided my 10 year old daughter's hair so neat and timely, and it wasn't tight. My daughter received such tender loving care from Ms. Nikki and left happy with a smile. Lala did my nails while I waited for my daughter. She was patient and provided advice, going over and beyond, for a service that was actually cheaper than what I originally requested. We will definitely return to A Cut Above.

Great service such amazing attention to detail. I love that they offer refreshments during your service. My phone was dying it was awsome that they have wireless chargers available right on the table so I was able to charge my phone while doing my nails. Lala did a wonderful job

Gel Nails FAQs
Gel nails cost between $5 and $55 in Rural New York.

Although gel manicures look beautiful, they can cause your natural nails to become brittle. The American Academy of Dermatology reports that repeated use of gel nails can increase the risk of skin cancer and the premature ageing of skin on the hands.
Gel and shellac nails both cure under UV light, but their composition is different. Gel nail polish is a lacquer made from acrylic monomers and oligomers; shellac polish is part gel, part regular nail polish, and is a patented brand by Creative Nail Design (CND). Both give a high shine and long-lasting finish.
Gel nails tend to give a more natural and glossier finish than acrylic nails; they are cured under a UV lamp and last for around 2 weeks. Acrylic nails are stronger than gels and start to cure as soon as they’re exposed to air; they generally last for 6-8 weeks but will need fills after 2 weeks to hide regrowth. Both can be used to lengthen nails and both can damage your natural nails.
Once every 2 weeks. Gel nails cure (harden) in UV light; this means they continue to cure in natural sunlight. The longer you keep your polish on, the longer it cures and the harder it is to remove. To reduce the risk of stripping and damaging your nails, it’s recommended that you book in with an experienced nail technician to remove and redo your gel nail polish every 2 weeks.
