What is a blow dry and how does it work?

A blow dry is a hair drying method that uses a handheld hair dryer to accelerate water evaporation from the wet strands of your hair’s surface. It’s often used to style hair. You can blow dry your hair at home, but nothing quite beats a professional salon blow dry.

How do I prepare my hair for a a blow dry?

Wait until your hair is at least 80% dry before you start blow drying it, and prep it first with a heat protectant. Use a volumising heat protectant if your hair is fine, a smoothing one if your hair’s prone to frizzing, and a leave-in conditioner if your hair is curly. You should also untangle any knots and section off your hair with clips before you begin your blow dry.

Can I blow dry my hair every day?

We wouldn’t recommend it. Heat is damaging to hair, so daily use of a heated styling tool like a hair dryer is likely to strip your hair’s natural oils, dry the cuticle and cause frizz and breakage.

How much does a blow dry cost?

How long does a blow dry take?
