Hvilke tilstande kan fysioterapi behandle?

Fysioterapi kan hjælpe med at forbedre problemer med knogler, led og blødt væv (f.eks. rygsmerter, sportsskader). Det kan også hjælpe med bevægelsesproblemer forårsaget af hjerne- eller nerveskader, herunder slagtilfælde og multipel sklerose. Hvis du lider af cystisk fibrose, vejrtrækning og hjerte- og kredsløbsproblemer, kan du også drage fordel af fysioterapi.

Hvor mange fysioterapisessioner har jeg brug for?

Dette afhænger virkelig af dit behov og niveau af fremskridt. Mindre skader kan tage 2-3 sessioner at lindre; bløddelsskader kan tage længere tid (6-8 uger), og alvorlige eller kroniske tilstande kan tage to eller flere måneder. Fysioterapi er altid skræddersyet til individuelle behov, så det er bedst at spørge din fysioterapeut, hvor mange sessioner du sandsynligvis vil kræve.

Hvad kan jeg forvente under en fysioterapisession?

Du får en indledende konsultation, før behandlingen påbegyndes, så din fysioterapeut kan forstå præcis, hvad der er galt, og hvordan de bedst kan hjælpe dig. Under behandlingen kan din fysioterapeut bruge deres hænder til at lindre smerter og forbedre din krops bevægelse, give dig øvelser for at styrke og øge din mobilitet og sundhed og komme med forslag til ændringer, du kan foretage derhjemme eller på arbejdet for at forhindre yderligere skade eller forbedre kropsholdning.

Kan fysioterapi udføres derhjemme?

Det afhænger af: noget fysioterapi kan udføres derhjemme (din fysioterapeut vil sandsynligvis give dig øvelser til at øve derhjemme alligevel); men nogle behandlinger skal muligvis udføres på din fysioterapeutklinik.
