Hvad er akupressur, og hvordan virker det?

Akupressur er baseret på troen på, at vores helbred i traditionel kinesisk medicin styres af energien (qi), der strømmer gennem visse kanaler (meridianer) i vores krop. Når energien bliver blokeret eller ubalanceret, kan vi lide med dårlig mental eller fysisk sundhed. Akupressur virker ved at lægge pres på specifikke meridianpunkter på vores krop, så qi kan flyde og genoprette balancen. Der er mere end 650 meridianpunkter (også kendt som akupunkter) på kroppen.

Hvad er fordelene ved akupressur?

Akupressur kan hjælpe med at lindre mange tilstande lige fra rygsmerter, træthed og angst til kvalme, hovedpine og immundefekter.

Er akupressur en sikker behandling?

Ja, men hvis du har forhøjet blodtryk, eller du er gravid, anbefales det, at du undgår akupressur.

Hvor lang tid tager en akupressursession, og hvad kan jeg forvente under sessionen?

45-90 minutter. Du skal forklare din akupressurudøver, hvad du gerne vil have behandlet, og afhængigt af de akupunkter, de skal have adgang til, bliver du bedt om enten at sidde eller ligge ned på et massagebord. Din praktiserende læge vil derefter begynde at lægge et fast, men blidt pres på specifikke akupunkter på din krop, hvilket lindrer dine symptomer i processen, genopretter qi-flowet og genopretter din krops balance.

Er der nogen potentielle bivirkninger eller risici forbundet med akupressur?

Du kan opleve ømhed, svimmelhed og blå mærker efter en akupressursession. Det anbefales normalt ikke at have akupressur, hvis du er gravid. Hvis du har en medicinsk tilstand, skal du tale med din læge, før du bestiller en akupressuraftale – de vil være i stand til at rådgive, om den er egnet til dig eller ej.
