Massage and Me Deep Tissue Massages focus on using slower movements to release tension and adhesions from deeper layers of muscle tissue. I use my knuckles, elbows and other techniques to unlock deep-rooted tension in the muscles. Deep Tissue Massages are particularly effective for clients experiencing chronic pain or undertaking a lot of physical activity.

Pregnancy can be a time of intense physical and emotional change for our bodies, some joyful and some a struggle! 

Prenatal massages with Massage and Me provide a relaxing space for you to focus on you and your baby, as well as helping to ease the aches and pains that often accompany pregnancy.

Prenatal massages also help to release oxytocin and prolactin as well as improving circulation, especially to areas where fluid retention can occur.

I work with my clients to ensure the massage focuses on your problem areas, ensuring you and your baby feel supported and comfortable throughout. I have plenty of pillows, safe oils to use in pregnancy, water and biscuits as well as regular toilet breaks if you need them! 

Please note these appointments can only start from 14 weeks of pregnancy onwards.

Prenatal Massage Treatments

We usually start with the massage, so that I can get to know where you're holding your tension, try to release as much as possible and help you to relax into your treatment. For the 30-minute massage it's best to focus on a particular area of the body, such as neck, back and shoulders. We discuss oils beforehand, what might be contributing to this tension, and how you'd like to feel at the end of your treatment. 

By the time we move into your reflexology, hopefully you're wonderfully relaxed and ready for me to treat your feet, using one of my nourishing Songbird waxes. It's always interesting to see if the tension areas from your massage are reflected in your foot reflexes. Whether you're facing challenges with perimenopausal symptoms, stress, long-term conditions such as fibromyalgia or you just want to relax and switch off, I can tie in sequences to your treatment that will hone in on certain reflexes that will hopefully help you to feel more balanced. 

30-minute Body Massage and 30-minute Reflexology Treatment

Swedish Massages are typically seen to focus more on relaxation, but can also be a powerful stress-release. They are the perfect choice for clients who are looking for some time to ‘switch off’ while giving their tired muscles some recovery time.

While these massages are typically very relaxing, the pressure can still be firm. Again I work with my clients to ensure the pressure used creates the right balance of relaxation and stress-release that they need.

This top-to-toe treatment starts with a balancing Indian Head Massage to invigorate, relieve tension and create an energy flow from your neck, shoulder, scalp and facial muscles. Followed by a relaxing reflexology treatment. Nourishing organic massage oils and reflexology waxes are used and the client is seated throughout.

We can either do full body massage or focus on a particular area of the body, such as neck, back and shoulders. We discuss oils beforehand, what might be contributing to this tension, and how you'd like to feel at the end of your treatment. 

By the time we move into your reflexology, hopefully you're wonderfully relaxed and ready for me to treat your feet, using one of my nourishing Songbird waxes. It's always interesting to see if the tension areas from your massage are reflected in your foot reflexes. 

We can split the time as you wish, with either 45 minutes of massage and 45 minutes of reflexology, or 1 hour and 30 minutes - whatever is best for you.

With two hours we have plenty of time for a full body massage to start. Ideal for clients working from home and fitting in a treatment during their break, and who want to focus on a particular area of tension, for example neck, back and shoulders. I will keep chat to a minimum to allow for you to have the maximum time for your treatment! Express treatments will be paid for in advance to save time.

Whether you prefer lighter pressure and find the hot stones relaxing and soothing, or you enjoy the more intense relief the stones can bring through firmer deep tissue pressure, it might be worth adding hot stones to your next treatment.

Indian Head Massage treatments focus on relieving tension from muscles in our shoulders, neck, scalp and face. 

I aim to create the same mix of;  energy flow, rebalance, peace and tension-release as with traditional Indian Head Massage practices.

Clients are seated to allow for access to all parts of the head, neck, face and shoulders. 

This treatment can be highly beneficial as a tension-release for all, but with particular mention to clients  who may suffer with neck tension, tension headaches, stress and insomnia. 

Pressure can be adjusted depending on the client’s needs and preferences.

These are usually my favourite treatment as I realise the importance of being supported, held and nurtured during this important time. I make sure we have a catch-up to start about your birth recovery (should you wish to) and the areas of your body that you feel are tired, sore and need energising. We make sure the oils are safe for the way you are feeding your baby and please remember your baby is always welcome at these appointments should you wish to bring them. I am here for you, Mamas.
