This treatment will strengthen and protect natural nails. "Rubber base" refers to a type of flexible gel base coat used particularly on those that  have are thin or brittle nails. The rubber base provides extra adhesion and flexibility, essentially acting like a protective layer that flexes with the natural nail movement.
