Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Deep Tissue Massage

Swedish Massage- the scientific, systematic manipulation of soft tissues of the body to improve general health and wellness.  A therapist performing Swedish Massage will utilize five basic strokes: effleurage (long, gliding strokes to improve circulation), petrissage (picking up and squeezing the muscles), friction (direct pressure), tapotement (quick, light striking movements) and vibration (rhythmic shaking).

 It is important to note that Swedish Massage can be performed with light, moderate or heavy pressure to meet your needs.

The modern world of healing has embraced another wonderful ancient technique, which has been used extensively in Chinese medicine for several thousand years. By creating suction and negative pressure, the skin will redden, indicating that circulation has been brought to the surface. Massage cupping is used to drain excess fluids and toxins; stimulate the peripheral nervous system; bring blood flow to stagnant muscles and skin; and loosen adhesions, connective tissue and stubborn knots in soft tissue. 
This treatment may leave round circular marks (not bruises) that my last anywhere from hours up to 2 weeks. Silicone cups only.
There is deep tissue massage included in this session when needed, especially in the longer sessions.

Deep Tissue and Cupping Massage

Hot stone massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated stones. They are often basalt, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. It is a deeply soothing, relaxing form of massage. The heat helps release tight muscles. 
What to Expect During a Hot Stone Massage? 
•Before you arrive, the massage therapist sanitizes the stones and heats them in 120 to 130 degrees.
•The therapist applies the traditional strokes of Swedish massage with the heated stone. As the stone cools, the therapist replaces it with another. 
•The therapist might also leave heated stones in specific points along your spine, or in the palms of your hand to improve the flow of energy in your body. 
•If you have inflammation or muscle injury, cold stones are sometimes used.
