In this session we will first discuss what has brought you to seek out reiki and then look at setting an intention for the session and that is what I will hold for and with you. If you are struggling with an intention we can pull a card from one of the decks I work with and allow that to guide us.
Each treatment can be tailored to your needs on the day and can include reiki drum healing. Although there are standard hand placements aligning with the nervous system and energy centres, I largely work intuitively and speak with the parts of the body that are feeling called out to be held, or that you have brought particular attention to, alongside the core placements. We close the session with reflections and grounding.

The treatment is a full hour but please allow time for arriving into the space from your arrival time and grounding and reflections before leaving, so you will be in the space longer than 1 hour.

Reiki and Rhythm

Somatic massage is a collaborative process, using body focussing, myofascial release and gentle questioning led by me to allow for awareness and connection. We begin the session by grounding and connecting you to sensations in the body. We then begin to work externally with those sensations, me, guided by your feedback whilst working with massage and you, providing feedback on changes and sensations arising. I may ask you to move your body slowly following the unconscious movements that arise as we speak, or to stay still and quiet, sitting in presence with a felt sensation by developing curiosity. Elements of MFR and unwinding are both used within this work.

This is a fluid and intuitive way of working but it is a way of developing deep bodily connection, developing your relationship to feelings and emotions and also by allowing yourself to vocalise out loud your experience, which supports developing boundaries. it allows for longer lasting fascial release.





somatic massage 

Bodywork sessions can be curated to your needs on the day. As part of your session there is time to explore what is going on for you physically and emotionally, to ground and pay attention to what your body needs. We work with welcoming in the different parts of the body through attention and the breath. These sessions are a learning of connection, listening, speaking and feeling. 

I begin massage sessions with some myofascial release before any oils or wax are applied to the skin. This allows us to see where there may be holding patterns in the body and allows us to begin communicating with them and building a relationship with the body that cultivates an inner safety and letting go from a nervous system level. 

From there we can combine, MFR, flowing massage, reiki, drumming and somatic practises to create a session that meets you where you are on the day. 

* Your session length is 90/120 minutes but expect to be here longer to arrive in the space and then ground before leaving.

Somatic therapy is a body-based approach that supports regulation of the nervous system — the part of us that governs how safe, connected, or overwhelmed we feel in the world. When we’ve experienced stress, trauma, or chronic tension, our bodies can get ‘stuck’ in patterns of fight, flight, freeze, or collapse. Somatic therapy offers a way to gently tune in, slow down, and restore a sense of safety and connection from the inside out.
Rather than talking through experiences alone, somatic work invites us to feel — to notice sensations, emotions, breath, and movement. This awareness helps the nervous system learn it’s safe to soften, release, or shift gear. Over time, it can bring more capacity to respond to life with resilience, rather than reacting from old patterns of survival.
I also incorporate Myofascial unwinding as needed within the therapeutic process. 

This is not a replacement for talk based therapy or medical treatment. 
I am a bodyworker not a counsellor.
