Dan is nothing short of class...great skills, great advice and just an all round great guy. I'd recommend him to anyone. He recently cut my son's hair who is very picky and does not enjoy getting his hair cut at all but Dan understood the assignment being calm, confident and chatty with my boy. Both of us are customers of Dan's for as long as possible. The Hoi Palloi, Whitley bay itself is great...relaxed, you can get a beer, decent music but the art work leaves a lot to be desired 😆

Top tier cut from Dan as always. I miss getting my hair cut by Jack, but he’s now the Taylor Swift of the HP so you need mates at TicketMaster to be able to get a seat with him. If you’re a massive fan of Josh Hartnett, he now works at the Whitley Bay shop.

The Whitley Bay shop is such a welcoming space. The whole team always greet you with a hello or a fist bump. Great job as usual by Scotty for my beard . I always look forward to my next visit because the lads create such a good vibe in the shop. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Lucky to live just around the corner & have such an experienced crew doing great things. Jack totally gets my hair & that it’s always “straight at the sides/messy as hell on top”. The Hou Polloi has really added something special to Whitley Bay.

Feels like I’ve been coming here forever. But that can’t be right…it’s not been open forever. So maybe 18 months or so now? Dunno. Hoi Polloi is your favourite shirt, the first sip of a cold pint, the first coffee of the morning. You know the feeling. They’re warm, open, friendly. Your mates. Little fist bump here, a gentle ribbing there. Dan in Whitley Bay has been my man since he was a junior. I’ve ‘cheated’ on him just a couple of times, with Scotty and Jack. Sound bunch. …Oh yeah, they cut hair as well. Really fucking well. Go. You’ll love it.

Had my first haircut at Hoi Polloi last night and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. From the warm welcome when I entered, to the friendly booking of my next visit, the team at Whitley Bay were top notch! The chilled vibes and the knowledgeable, professional haircut made it far and above the best haircut I’ve had in years! Looking forward to my next appointment! :)

Another amazing session with Steve. My lad Jude is 4 years old and has autism. Jude has a great relationship with Steve and the lads at the Whitley Bay Hoi. Steve has spent a lot of time with Jude over our sessions, and I genuinely feel that Steve is one of Judes favourite people. I have absolutely no idea how he got him to sit still, but it happened. Best haircut I've ever had. Welcoming friendly staff, I was offered a drink as soon as I came through the door and had a beautiful cup of coffee as I waited for around 5 minutes. Nick gave me a brilliant haircut, with lots of care and attention to detail. Incredibly happy with the haircut and I will be back again for my next one. I also bought some of their own branded hair product which is also great stuff. I can without a doubt recommend The Hoi Polloi Whitley Bay as a brilliant place for a good haircut and good craic.
