Remedial massage is a corrective treatment which is specific to clients presenting issues or concerns. Useful when recovering from moderate injury, experiencing pain and/or dysfunction in an area, joint or muscle. A range of techniques are applied to treat the muscles and connective tissue to aid recovery,  releasing acute or chronic patterns of tension. The area of injury or pain will be identified and if required traced to origin, the focus of this treatment will be on the affected and surrounding area only.  Some discomfort is normal during this treatment and a moderate tolerance for pain may be required. 

Remedial Massage 

Deep tissue massage is used to treat chronic tension and pain, targeting the deep layers of muscles and tissues. The techniques used apply concentrated pressure to break down adhesions and knots resolving restrictions and releasing chronic patterns of tension. Some discomfort is normal during this treatment and a moderate tolerance for pain may be required. Deep tissue massage begins with a large area focus, full body or back, then will target a specific region or muscle if/as required.

Deep Tissue Massage

A beneficial treatment for people participating in regular physical activity, aiming to promote optimal functioning and prevent injury.  A range of techniques are applied to address any dysfunction or imbalance in the muscles and tissues caused by any repetitive and/or strenuous physical activity or trauma. Therapist will adapt the application of techniques to suit clients specific needs. Full body or area focused as required.
Some people may experience some tenderness and/or discomfort following treatment. This is completely normal and should not last beyond 24-48hrs.

ScarWork is a gentle manual therapy developed to help tissue damage associated with scarring, including fibrosis, adhesions and contracture following surgery ir trauma. 
The gentle therapy techniques are carried out directly on the skin surface without the use of oil, lotions or gels. ScarWork helps to reduce pain, sensitivity and numbness. It can be used to treat any tissue fibrosis or "thickening" following trauma or surgery.

Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) is a system of medically and scientifically approved gentle mobilisations and stretches developed by Scottish Physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert to bring the body back into balance.  It can be useful in resolving many physical complaints including joint and back pain, headaches, pelvic discomfort, hip and knee problems, shoulder and neck pain.

Post operative massage has proven to be beneficial by reducing pain and swelling, supporting wound healing, promoting cellular and tissue repair, restoring mobility and flexibility, reducing scarring and shortening overall recovery time. Treatment covers incision site and affected surrounding soft tissue.

This treatment aims to promote wellbeing and improve general function throughout the whole body. It is beneficial for those who suffer from chronic stress or longstanding conditions such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. A range of techniques are applied to stimulate the nervous system encouraging deep physical release and reduce emotional stress.  A full body treatment. Some techniques during this treatment will require deep pressure which may cause slight discomfort. If you have any concerns regarding pain tolerance or perception please speak to your therapist prior to treatment who will be more than happy to discuss any concerns you may have.
