All skin types can be treated. It is highly beneficial on clients over 30 years of age as a way of exercising the skin. Excellent on acne skin types as long as there are no active lesions present. This technique is safely performed by using a specialised sterile surgical instrument. After preparation the skin is held tight and gentle scraping methods at an angle of 45 degrees, dead skin is scrapped off. Dermaplaning is performed only on the face. Salicylic acid leaves a white precipitate on the skin and is confined to the epidermis only.
