‘Gummy Smile’ refers to a condition where the top lip goes too far above the top teeth when they smile.

This shows a large area of upper gums which can make the smile unattractive, causing self-consciousness.

Causes for ‘gummy smile’ could include:

A small amount of Botulinum toxin will be injected at both sides of the junction of nostril and nose to mouth fold to weaken the muscles. The treatment consists of injections containing hyaluronic acid which naturally occurs in the skin. Dermal fillers are not to be mistaken as a permanent solution, as the results from the treatment will begin to fade away over time. Lip Filler Treatments

Lip fillers typically break down over time due to naturally occurring hyaluronidase. When filler dissolving is required, concentrated doses of hyaluronidase are injected into the lips. The injections break down the hyaluronic acid in the lip filler. This is then disposed of by the body’s natural systems.

A injection patch test will be performed prior to treatment. A minimum of 3 weeks is required before refilling.

Excessive sweating can be due to a variety of reasons and the most common reason is the genetic predisposition. Apart from that secondary causes like hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease.

Hyperhidrosis can be classified into two types mainly:

Primary hyperhidrosis: Most of people have a genetic inclination for hyperhidrosis and include 30-50% of the affected population*. In the majority of these patients, the cause is unknown.
Secondary hyperhidrosis: The condition may also arise due to an underlying health condition. The most common diseases causing excessive sweating include hyperthyroidism, obesity, adrenal gland disorders, and Parkinson’s disease.
