Collect payments using Tap to Pay on Android
Securely accept contactless payments in person without needing any extra hardware. Learn how to process payments directly from your Android for smoother transactions.
Tap to Pay on Android Setup
To start using Tap to Pay on Android, you need an Android device running version 11 or newer with the latest security patch, which must be dated March 5th, 2022, or later. Your device should also have:
- An NFC reader that is enabled on your device.
- Support for hardware key attestation and Google certification.
The latest version of the Fresha partner app.
Supported card payment providers
For Tap to Pay on Android, only VISA, Mastercard, and AMEX are supported at this time. Other card providers are not compatible with this feature.
Activating and using Tap to pay
Tap to Pay on Android accepts contactless Visa and Mastercard credit or debit cards and digital wallets, with all payments collected directly into your business wallet.
To activate and use Tap to Pay on Android:
- Open the Fresha partner app on your Android.
- Head to your Calendar and open the appointment you want to checkout, or create a new appointment for a walk-in client.
- Tap Checkout and review your cart before you Continue to payment.
- Select your payment method as Tap to Pay and Pay now.
- When prompted on-screen to Tap card behind device, ask your client to tap their contactless card or digital wallet.
- Once the payment has been processed, a transaction receipt will be generated which can be shared with the client by tapping Share receipt.
