Welcome to Jays Braid Studio! I'm Jordan, a specialist in beautiful, long-lasting braided hairstyles for all hair types.

​My goal is for everyone to feel confident in their braids. I specialise in seamless goddess and knotless braids, paying meticulous attention to detail to ensure every style is neat, comfortable, and flawlessly flows from the root.

​Based in Redland, I offer home-based appointments in a private setting. Mobile appointments are also available upon request for your convenience.

The correct hair that is used for this style is pre-stretched braiding hair. I only work with pre-stretched hair and not blunt end braiding hair as it adds a significant amount of time onto the appointment and causes a lot of loss of the braiding hair. Using pre-stretched braiding hair can cause less waste and is much easier to use.

Crochet Hair

A protective hairstyle that mimics the look of traditional dreadlocks using synthetic extensions

Faux Locs

A type of faux locs hairstyle that combines the structure of traditional locs with a free-spirited, bohemian look. They feature textured, slightly messy locs with loose, wavy or curly ends and strands

Boho Locs

A traditional African hairstyle featuring front cornrow patterns with regular/goddess braids in the back. Its often styled with beads, cuffs, or shells. These however are not included in total price

Fulani Braids

A protective style where hair is braided with extensions to natural length, leaving ends loose. Similar technique to French braids however it differs as human hair is commonly used

Crochet Braids

Crochet with Braided Hairline

Boho braids use human hair for the curly pieces left out, giving a more natural, soft, and long-lasting look. They require more time and preparation because the human hair must be carefully blended and maintained.

Goddess braids, on the other hand, use synthetic hair for the curly parts, which is quicker to install and more affordable, but may tangle or frizz faster.

In short, Boho braids offer a more natural finish and durability, while Goddess braids are easier and quicker to install.



Boho Knotless Braids

The correct hair to bring to the appointment is French Curl braiding hair. This type of hair is specifically designed for French curl braids. The hair is straight at the top, where it is braided, and has loose curls at the bottom, which are left out. This hair is not recommended for regular braids or loc styles because it is very soft and can easily unravel. It is not meant to be dipped in boiling water, as this will cause the curls to lose their shape. The ends are secured by tying with a knot and glue or by using a plastic band. 

As the knot with glue can add more time to your appointment, I ask that you book this as a separate service in the “add on section”. Please add the service called “knotted ends” if you would like this rather than plastic bands to avoid any confusion. Thank you

Box Braids

Elevate your current look with any of these beautiful twisted styles. All these styles can also be upgraded to goddess looks so be sure to go to the add on section and add “goddess” to your basket! I have added the correct hair to bring in each section of twisted hairstyles if you need any help! Failure to bring the correct type of hair will result in a £10 additional fee to your appointment due to the added time for preparation

Senegalese twists are a braiding style done with braiding hair. I only work with pre-stretched hair, as it reduces waste, is easier to use, and saves significant time during appointments.

Passion twist hair is very springy and is designed specifically for passion twist styles. This is the correct hair for this type of style

Afro kinky hair (also known as Marley hair) is used for loc styles and natural-looking twists. This hair can be dipped in boiling water if you want to add a bit more movement, but it is not required.

This style is created with synthetic Marley braiding hair (afro kinky hair) that has a coarse texture, making the style very sturdy. This hair can be dipped in boiling water for more movement

Elevate your style with Goddess Knotless Braids featuring hair extensions. Achieve a divine, elegant look with added length and flair. Hair must be cleaned and detangled before the appointment (failure to do so may result in extra charges or being turned away with a loss of deposit); Please note hair extensions will not be provided.

The correct hair that is used for this style is pre-stretched braiding hair (for the braids) and curly hair pieces for the curly parts. 

I only work with pre-stretched hair and not blunt end braiding hair as it adds a significant amount of time onto the appointment and causes a lot of loss of the braiding hair. Using pre-stretched braiding hair can cause less waste and is much easier to use. 

This can range from human hair or synthetic hair. Recommend synthetic hair is by the Cherish brand. They have many curl patterns available. However, the most popular curly hair that is used for this style is deep twist bulk. 

Curly ends: £10 extra

Extra Length 

This service is added when hair is not prepped due to the added amount of time to the service it takes to detangle and part hair. Please come with hair freshly washed and blown out with minimal product.
