Big Strides Occupational Therapy is pleased to offer a Grade R Screening for the Grade RR learners. This screening will assess key developmental areas necessary for a smooth transition to formal schooling. The screening will assess:

✅ Fine motor skills (e.g., pencil grip, cutting skills)

✅ Gross motor skills (e.g., balance, coordination)

✅ Visual-motor integration (e.g., copying shapes, letter formation)

✅ Perceptual skills (e.g., spatial awareness, visual discrimination)

✅ Attention and concentration

✅ Basic language and early literacy skills

✅ Social-emotional readiness

Grade R Readiness Assessment

Specific in depth evaluation of certain functions affecting the total person.

Developmental milestones screening evaluates a child's physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development to ensure they are meeting key age-appropriate skills. It helps identify any delays or challenges early on, allowing for timely support and interventions tailored to each child's needs.

Developmental Milestones Screening

An initial evaluation consists of a parents questionnaire, a 1-2 hour long face-to-face assessment with your child, and a written report.
Once the report is complete, I will be in touch to arrange a feedback session.

Initial Evaluation 

In the feedback session, the assessment findings are discussed with you, the parents. 
Together, we then decide on the way forward in terms of your child's treatment.
