Keep your microlocs neat, strong, and thriving with our retightening service. This session focuses on maintaining your roots by interlocking new growth back into your locs, helping to prevent matting and thinning. Ideal for clients looking to maintain a fresh, uniform look while promoting healthy loc development.

Recommended every 6-8 weeks, depending on hair growth and lifestyle. First retie is complimentary for Studio Loc’d clients.

Microloc retie (Existing Clients)

Refresh your scalp and locs with our deep cleansing wash. This service gently removes buildup, sweat, and excess oils while maintaining the integrity of your microlocs or traditional locs. We use residue-free, loc-friendly products to ensure your hair stays clean, light, and healthy. Perfect as part of your regular maintenance routine or before a retightening session.

Recommended every 4-6 weeks or as needed.

Microloc retie 4 - 6 weeks

Begin your microloc journey with a professional foundation tailored to your hair texture and desired size. During this session, we carefully part and establish each loc using a method suited to your hair and lifestyle (interlocking, braiding or two-strand twists). We’ll also guide you on what to expect during the locking process and how to care for your new microlocs in the early stages.

Consultation required before booking. Installation time and price vary based on hair length and density.

Microloc Installation - Natural Hair

Ideal for those considering microlocs, transitioning from loose natural hair, or needing expert advice.

Required before booking a loc installation service.

Virtual Consultation (New or Potential Clients)

Give your microlocs a fresh start with our deep cleansing detox treatment. This service removes buildup, trapped oils, lint, and impurities that regular washing can’t reach — leaving your locs feeling lighter, cleaner, and healthier. We use a gentle yet effective blend of natural, loc-safe ingredients to purify without drying out your hair. Recommended a few times a year to maintain the health and longevity of your locs.

Best paired with a retie or wash. Not recommended for newly installed locs (under 6 months).

Microloc Detox / Deep Cleanse

Need a quick refresh between your regular retie sessions? This service targets specific areas — like your hairline, partings, or spots with noticeable new growth — to keep your microlocs looking neat without a full retie. Ideal for special occasions or when you just need a light maintenance boost.

Not a full retie. Best for clients within 4-6 weeks of their last session.

Microloc Touch-Up

Using the interlocking method, we carefully retighten your new growth to keep your locs neat and encourage healthy locking. During this session, we also check your progress, address any concerns, and provide personalised tips to care for your locs as they mature.

Typically done 6-8 weeks after installation.

Microloc Retie (New Clients - includes consultation)

If it’s been more than 8 weeks since your last retie, this extended session is for you. We’ll carefully manage the extra new growth, address any matting or merging locs, and restore neatness and structure to your microlocs. Please book this option to ensure we allow enough time to give your hair the attention it needs.

Recommended for clients 8 weeks or more since their last retie. 

Overdue Retie (8+ Weeks)

This service is for clients needing extra care for their microlocs. We address issues like slipped or broken locs, merging locs, or weak spots. Each session is customised to restore the health, structure, and appearance of your locs. Perfect if you’ve experienced damage or want to strengthen and protect your locs before it becomes a bigger issue.
