NAIL GEL/ACRYLIC AFTERCARE
The following aftercare advice is essential to help reduce the risk of treatment
complications, to improve your comfort/healing and to help achieve the best possible
results from treatment.
Please follow the aftercare advice for gel or acrylic nail extensions.
• Be extra careful when wearing nail enhancements.
• Be careful with car door handles, use a spoon to open cans/ring pulls.
• Knocking your nails can damage or tear off gel/acrylics, which can be painful and
drastically affect the health of your nails. Therefore it is vital to the health of your
nails not to do anything too strenuous.
• You should be extra gentle with your gel/acrylic nails for the first 24-48 hours
after they are applied. Although the material used dries in minutes, they are not
very strong until the bonding process has been completed. Avoid hot baths/hot-
tubs or saunas for the first 48 hours as wet heat can weaken and make the nails
lift.
• After 48 hours wash hands immediately after

After your hands are placed in a aromatic cuticle soak, scrubbed & all cuticle is gently pushed back, the nails are then filed before the hands are wrapped in a paraffin wax or luxury mask before being placed in heated mitts followed by a relaxing hand massage.

There anything I should do before my waxing?
• Refrain from taking a shower or bath immediately before the treatment. Soaking the hair will soften it, allowing it to break more easily and making waxing less effective.
• Make sure the hair is the appropriate length for waxing.
• Make sure that the area(s) to be waxed are clean.
• There are certain medications and products that should not be taken or used if you plan to have a waxing treatment soon. Topical exfoliants used on the area to be waxed such as Retin-A, Renova, and hydroquinone, oral acne medications such as Accutane, blood-thinning medications, and topical/oral cortisone make the skin more sensitive and increase the likelihood of irritation or other complications. Please check with your doctor if you are unsure if you should be waxed while on or using a medication.
How often should I get my waxing treatment?
Every four weeks. Regular waxing is essential. The skin will be less sensitive if waxing is done every 4 weeks.
